Wow. Its been six weeks. So the obvious assumption would be that we haven’t been doing anything, but its exactly the opposite. Expressions Cinema just made it through its first wedding season and with Malka Media now alive and well – our sports

marketing group – a lot has been going on around here. This week we got our second chance at shooting the Alan T Brown annual Celebrity Golf & Tennis Tournament. Bruce Beck, Sam Rosen, Ken Daneyko, Jeremy Schaap were all on hand – see the picture below . It was a long day and this video does a pretty good job of highlighting everything from morning till night – except the rain…

Had the pleasure of shooting this wedding on June 5 at Shaareh Zion in Brooklyn, NY. The bride and groom wrote each other notes the day before the wedding and read them to each other for the video. The funny part as you can see is Ashley wrote hers on a piece of papyrus type paper and David – well he used the notes section of his iPad. Really cool young couple, and an absolutely kickin (although very long) party. Also the first time I had baby lamb chops on a job – yum. Enjoy their coming soon trailer.

Got to shoot a really cool wedding last week at Temple Emanuel in Closter, NJ. For this who have not been – it’s a really nice venue with outdoor courtyards tucked away in the woods of North Jersey. Of course one of the nicest parts of the venue is the beautiful stained glass dome in the main sanctuary featured in this video.

We shot this wedding for Kruter Photography only 4 days ago in Monsey, NY at The Atrium. One of the challenges at this venue is the hall itself is in a strip mall. Not neccessarily the best setting for outdoor pictures but I think both us and the photography crew did a great job posing outdoors.

The grooms father is Avraham Rosenblum, the founder of the Diaspora Yeshiva Band – there was a pretty cool jam session that broke out to kick off the second dance with the Rockin’ Rabbi, Yitzy (The Groom) and Rabbi Shur, but you’ll have to wait for the feature and highlight for more of that

While I have been in video production for a number of years now, it is nice to look back fondly on the first “transitional” moment of what I would call my current day film making. I came primarily from an HDV background as well as a production and corporate background. There are two major decisions that came within a few months of each other. One was to abandon the HDV format for HDSLR (thank the lord I did), and the second was to start shooting events.

On Valentine’s Day weekend I had the opportunity to help out NY Minute Dating capture their biggest event of the year. The company hosts multiple events every week in the New York area including various speed dating and singles events. A big problem facing many businesses, especially in the dating arena, is the perceived legitimacy of the business.

Enter online promo video. In a vastly competitive and skeptical market (would you necessarily trust an online speed dating company???) having a promotional video where potential customers can see over 800 singles at one of your events helps immensely.

This event was also run in conjunction with Groupon. Tickets were sold two for one on their site which brought in an entirely new crowd to NY Minute’s client pool. All in all this was a great event and we threw together this highlight package for the NY Minute homepage.

We had the opportunity to work with Jerry Meyer Studios last week in a very interesting environment. The venue was Ateres Avrohom in Brooklyn, NY. It’s amazing to see how using a few dividers, they literally transform a room from cocktail hour, to ceremony, to reception – all in one room. The cinematic style is a new product being offered by JMS and we are proud to work with them to offer this great product.
