While I have been in video production for a number of years now, it is nice to look back fondly on the first “transitional” moment of what I would call my current day film making. I came primarily from an HDV background as well as a production and corporate background. There are two major decisions that came within a few months of each other. One was to abandon the HDV format for HDSLR (thank the lord I did), and the second was to start shooting events.

With about 5 years of event experience as a DJ, coupled with my production background, the transition was fairly smooth. The advent of HDSLR at events however took some getting used to. However, I had much to learn about audio capture, stabilization equipment, etc. etc. This was the first Bat Mitzvah we shot last year. You won’t see our usual Steadicam shots, dolly shots or anything like that – but a nice foundation for what we have developed into our HDSLR story telling style. ENJOY!
