Jason Aron has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of live television, documentary filmmaking, and branded content — building a reputation as one of the most versatile directors in the business.
Aron’s career began in commercial and branded content. In 2012, he co-founded Malka Media, producing content for some of the world’s most recognizable brands including L’Oréal, Ray-Ban, Verizon, Deloitte, and Luxottica over more than a decade. That foundation in storytelling and production discipline became the launchpad for everything that followed.
Concurrently, Aron established himself as a feature documentary director. In 2015, he directed Back in Time, an exploration of the cultural legacy of the Back to the Future trilogy, which premiered on Netflix, claimed the #1 documentary spot on IMDb for two consecutive months, and earned official selections at eight film festivals. In 2019, he followed it with On Board, a deep dive into the world of points, miles, and modern travel. His third feature, The Price of Health — an examination of the true cost of eating healthy in America, exploring the economic realities, industry forces, and everyday trade-offs that shape what ends up on our plates — is slated for release in late 2026.
As his documentary work grew, so did his live broadcast career. Aron directed more than 50 boxing events over eight years with Showtime Sports, including the global phenomenon that was the Mayweather-McGregor press tour and fight week. His music broadcasting work includes serving as showrunner and director for the Jonas Brothers’ Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, which brought six live concert broadcasts to audiences worldwide on Samsung TV Plus. As director and technical producer for Amazon Music’s City Sessions concert series, he helmed performances by Chappell Roan, Tate McRae, Jelly Roll, Warren Zeiders, D4VD, and others — as well as two seasons of the Amazon Music Live Thursday Night Football pre-show, hosted by 2 Chainz and featuring artists including Ed Sheeran and Green Day. Aron also served as technical producer for the Yungblud Takeover of Sunset Strip for Amazon Music — a continuous live stream that followed the artist across three clubs on the same night in a single uninterrupted broadcast.
In the streaming and branded content space, Aron has produced some of the most inventive live activations of the past decade. For Amazon Studios, he designed and directed a 15-camera live escape room experience promoting the launch of Jack Ryan Season 2. For Verizon, he created and produced the In The Know Bowl, an esports tournament pitting NFL players against top gamers in a live Call of Duty competition, which ran for three consecutive years around the Super Bowl. On Twitch, Aron directed high-profile streaming events including a multi-location live production featuring Borat and Dr. Lupo for the release of the second Borat film.
On the unscripted side, Aron directed The Peptide Society, an 8-episode reality-documentary crossover slated for release in 2026 that pulls back the curtain on the biggest players in the rapidly emerging peptide space — blending investigative storytelling with the access and pacing of premium reality television.
In 2025, Aron co-founded Youngry — a full-service marketing agency — serving as Chief Content Officer, leading all production and content strategy for the firm’s growing roster of clients.
